Investing in Transparent Progress
Finding Common Purpose is a pooled philanthropic fund that helps communities focus on outcomes that actually make life better: things like housing, food security, and education. It’s philanthropy with a performance mindset. Schedule time to connect with the FCP team to explore how they can support your vision for positive change.
FCP’s support of our data dashboard work allowed us to demonstrate our commitment to data-driven decision making, as well as creating useful data to encourage our partners to do the same. These conversations have improved our ability to be clear about our ‘so what’ and think meaningfully about the role each initiative.

What we do
Finding Common Purpose invests in the infrastructure and capacity of place-based initiatives to set specific, transparent, and measurable outcomes that align leaders, institutions, and resources around what matters most: whether families can afford housing, whether kids are on track, and whether hard work leads to stability.
Our grants provide technical capacity, research, and learning that strengthen how outcomes and community dashboards are used while also energizing field-building efforts that help more communities adopt outcomes-based approaches.

Why now?
We are growing a small circle of people who want to fund outcomes, not overhead. In the past 6 decades, there has been significant growth in government and philanthropic spending, as well as in programs and volunteerism intended to improve health, educational, and economic outcomes. During that time, inequality has widened across race, place, and socio-economic status. FCP’s giving accelerates the work in outcomes driven communities ensuring that you can have confidence in the impact of your giving.

“We’ve spent decades investing in good intentions, yet outcomes for working people have only worsened. FCP is my bet that when communities agree on the outcomes that matter and track them openly, real change becomes possible. This is the first time I’ve funded what I’m building, because I believe data can help communities truly thrive—and I’m investing so we can prove it and scale what works”
